Review of Angel and the Badman (1947)

Moving picture, 100 minutes

Seen in 2024.

Quirt Evans is pursued on his way to the telegraph.

Gail Russell nails her portrayal of the sweet and wholesome love interest, but everything else about this typical Western, set on the edge of Monument Valley, is pretty chintzy. The most laughable schlock in it is the gang of four “badmen” Quirt offends at a bar. Multiple shots show these four simply standing crestfallen at the bar, not talking, before the evitable fight scene.
