Review of Bambi (1942)

Moving picture, 70 minutes

Animal life in a temperate forest as a clockwork of monogamous romantic relationships.

An impressive technical showcase. Sincerely hideous songs. It’s certainly cute, with impressive scope and misanthropic darkness as compared to more recent Disney, though the hunters who disturb the peace are not shown. For some reason we see only their uncute, strangely harmless dogs.
