Review of Building Chernobyl’s Mega Tomb (2017)

Moving picture

Seen in 2017.

I saw an edited, Swedish-narration cut of Martin Gorst’s “Inside Chernobyl’s Mega Tomb”. I’m not sure about the IMDb reference.

Engineering aspects of the contemporary project to encase the melted reactor at Chernobyl.

Shallow, spending no time at all on the 200 competing proposals in the edit I saw, and none on the actual health risks of a collapse, but it brings up several unanticipated details. These include the warm, dry ventilation, necessary because the structure cannot be repainted to protect against corrosion, and the caterpillar-like mode of transportation on steel-and-teflon rails.
