Review of Dark Days (2000)

Moving picture, 82 minutes

Seen in 2017.

Homeless individuals—“mole people”—living in the Amtrak tunnel under Riverside Park in Manhattan. The area is named “Freedom Tunnel” in reference to graffiti artist Chris Pape. When Amtrak police clear out the people, one of Pape’s paintings in the tunnel is shown: A Dick Tracy panel where the cartoon hero shouts “Drop the gun mole!”

Direct cinema. Quite a ways from “New York Subway” (1905) and a good use for relatively photosensitive monochromatic film stock. It was released too late to be of any influence on the Fate faction of Delta Green, but is nonetheless chronologically compatible with the game.
