Review of Death Powder (1986)

Moving picture, 63 minutes

Review refers to a VHS copy with both Japanese and English subtitles, the latter obviously inaccurate but the former very degraded and hard to read.

I’d rewatch it with a good copy. I don’t suppose there is much of a story, but like Akira (1982), it’s an interesting fusion of cyberpunk with psychic powers and body horror. It follows Gibson as well as Burst City (1982) in the genre and attributes the softer stuff to mysterious emerging technology.
