Review of Dirty Pretty Things (2002)

Moving picture, 97 minutes

Two illegal immigrants dodge the authorities in London. Their two brands of idealism are pitted against the strange world they must inhabit.

Slightly mysterious thriller/drama. David Lynch meets Requiem for a Dream (2000), but much less weird. The fact that idealism actually triumphs—only somewhat dented—brings it down, and one really does wonder if Okwe is human.
