Review of Doomsday (2008)

Moving picture, 105 minutes

Hilarious kitsch. It’s so poorly written that it feels directly equivalent to 1940s low-budget second features, but with a strong video-game influence. I was amused to see an unabashed combination of two, almost equally preposterous post-apocalyptic scenarios in Scotland: Mohawk-and-shades cannibalism out of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) with no explanation for that, and intentional medieval barbarism.
