Reviews of The Element of Crime (1984) and related work

The Element of Crime (1984Moving picture, 104 minutes)

Like Blade Runner (1982), but without pace, good ideas or entertainment value, and failing to hide a lack of money as Scott did. Surprisingly for Lars von Trier, no humour either. The first film in a Europe trilogy, varied in style and tone. All three films involve a man entering a new territory with good intentions and screwing up.
