Review of Generation Earth (2012)

Moving picture

Seen in 2014.

Amazingly uncritical. We see glamorous Saudi Arabian farms, without any comment on how they’re irrigated from groundwater at 10 times the renewable rate. Interviews with crane drivers get more screen time than the deforestation of the Amazon which, having already happened, is apparently none of our concern and we should just be happy for all the cows that are getting slaughtered there now. Not a word about global warming. A refreshingly idiotic celebration of double-edged developments.
