Review of Generation Wealth (2018)

Moving picture, 105 minutes

Seen in 2019.

Writer-director-photographer Lauren Greenfield on capitalism, the gold standard, taxation, ambition, career, luxury, superficiality, obsession, narcissism, plastic surgery, child-parent relationships, developmental psychology, eating disorders, striptease, porn, decadence, reality TV, the USA, love and so on.

Ten minutes too long, too broad by far and occasionally not very truthful (monuments don’t necessarily presage collapse), but it’s at least mildly interesting on each of its many topics.
