Review of “Godless in America” (2006)

Moving picture, 59 minutes

Seen in 2018.

Madalyn Murray O’Hair.

Pretty flat. It spends no time at all on the substance of what Murray was debating, or predecessors like Russell, and it doesn’t go into her own financial impropriety. In 1995, David Waters found a letter from New Zealand describing a bank account with over $900,000 in it, making Murray quite unpopular around the office and leading to Waters’s horrible crime. I suppose the most interesting thing about the presentation here is that it has not been coloured by the surge of “New Atheism”, that term being coined in 2006.
