Review of Harlan County U.S.A. (1976)

Moving picture, 103 minutes

Miners strike for better terms (and keeping the right to strike), while battling their own corrupt union.

Direct cinema. Could have used just a little more clarification (for reference to the same case see e.g. Jeff Goodell, Big Coal: The Dirty Secret Behind America’s Energy Future), but it’s an excellent case study.
