Introduction to Japanese popular culture, particularly cinema. Interview subjects (in the first season) include Miyazaki Hayao, Oshii Mamoru, Miike Takashi and Koike Kazuo.
Hip and flashy cultural digest at skin depth. The host is Jonathan Ross, who also presented the more impressive “Manga” (1994). He knows no Japanese and misinterprets Ghost in the Shell (1995) as if neither he nor his writer had seen it. Speaking of which, the Japanese flipside of the logo reads only “Japarama”.
