It’s probably not true that Himalayan squirrels perceive light in “precisely” the same way “you” do. Squirrels in general are believed to be more sensitive to blue and green light than to red, for example. However, this is one case where Dickinson’s ignorance does not seriously undermine the lovely sentiment.
