As usual, Theroux focuses entirely on a few individuals. There is absolutely no discussion of the paradox of being sentenced while also being declared innocent, but the complexity of guilt is evident in the interviews. In one interview, one of the “NGRI”’s thinks Theroux is looking at him funny, which of course he is; even the insane will react to Theroux’s iconic concerned expression.
