Reviews of Millennium: Part 1 – Men Who Hate Women (2009) and related work

Millennium: Part 1 – Men Who Hate Women (2009Moving picture, 152 minutes)

The last, best hope of true journalism gets sex, survival and triumph, while providing therapeutic comfort and thus getting a shot at wealth. Too much wish fulfillment and too little systemicity. The source of trouble in the plot is not a realistic misogyny but one or two risibly evil individuals.

Millennium: Part 2 – The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009Moving picture, 129 minutes)

I love the idiocy of suddenly sticking a giant albino who can feel no pain into the mix, as some sort of crossover with bad seinen. The fact that Paulo Roberto’s presence is derived directly from the book is also kind of mind-blowing, but not exactly good.

Millennium: Part 3 – The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest (2009Moving picture, 147 minutes)

More of the same. Little plot.
