One of Martin’s SF shorts outside the Thousand Worlds setting. While it imitates Lovecraft’s melancholy and the cosmic twist endings of a whole slew of SF like “The Last Question” (1956), “Nor the Many-Colored Fires of a Star Ring” is primarily a romantic drama lacking both colour and ideas.
