Review of “Sky-Coloured Seed” (1992)

Moving picture

Miyazaki Hayao (writer-director).

A boy plays with a toy airplane. A fox comes by and trades a seed for the plane. The boy nurtures the seed. It sprouts a house.

A fable in three brief episodes, by Miyazaki. Like Nandarou (1992), Sky-Coloured Seed was made for Nippon Terebi’s 40th anniversary. Moral fluff. Nice music, and surprisingly complex animation.
