Like After the Campfires (1998), this was a bit of a slog, as is to be expected from first-time authors producing 500-page bricks; this one is a little shorter. Brönnestam did not have Jorner’s high ambition, but her heart was also in the right place: Low fantasy with a touch of darkness.
