I remember being mystified by the Jesus allegory as a child. It didn’t make sense before I got the key to it, and it still doesn’t make sense with the key.

A feudalist bourgeois childish white bloodless Christian sexist failure even as eye candy. For this adaptation they even put the Lamp-post of the Lantern Waste on the poster. That lamp-post was C. S. Lewis’s attempt to troll J. R. R. Tolkien by wilfully damaging the idea of another world. He later tried to explain it (as magical and living) and then forgot about it for his sequels. Supposedly, Tolkien was more disappointed with the presence of Father Christmas, a.k.a. Santa Claus.
