Review of “The Man with No Shadow” (2004)

Moving picture, 9 minutes

Georges Schwizgebel (director).

Seen in 2017.

Restored 4K version at GIFF 2017.

Second only to “The Year of the Deer” (1995) on the list of Schwizgebel’s attempts to tell a story, this one based on a book. He changed the ending to something more visual. The opening two thirds are by far the most interesting. The fluid compositions made to emphasize shadows in it are just beautiful.
