Review of The Quiet Earth (1985)

Moving picture, 91 minutes

A New Zealand scientist who’s been working on one node in a global system of wireless energy transfer for American airplanes wakes up one morning and finds that there are no other people left in the world, nor much of anything alive. Even the microscopic organisms which would normally have destroyed all food seem to have disappeared, and physical reality is subtly destabilized. Until he finds other survivors, the scientist must contend with his own freedom, “condemned to live”.

Solipsistic apocalypse SF. Great madness.
