Review of The Tenant (1976)

Moving picture, 126 minutes

An unstable man unravels, effectively of his own accord, at an irregular pace and in such a way that we can’t know how cold and demonically bourgeois his surroundings really are.

Realistically, visual and auditory hallucinations are very different from Nykvist’s first-class cinematography, which is too clear to pass as madness.
