Too close to the comedy of Maison Ikkoku (1986). The multi-ethnic dramatis personae is a national pie chart, and the idea that “Evil has no nationality” is not a common trope, just a conceit to bring home the message. I was hoping for the atmosphere of Domu: A Child’s Dream (1980), and I was disappointed.
