Review of Ace in the Hole (1951)

Moving picture, 111 minutes

Seen in 2016.

Wilder is in the same hole. He makes the film a human-interest story about one man struggling to take a human interest. The big carnival set is fantastic, with poor Papa Minosa wandering around looking nauseous. Unfortunately the drilling scheme is too obviously dangerous to Leo, and the misogyny is pretty strong.
