“Animation Runner Kuromi” (2001)
A fresh graduate is suddenly stuck in charge of a catastrophic animation project. Her duties include racing around town to collect key animation frames from quirky, stressed-out underlings.
A comedy. The Japanese cover prominently includes the phrase “Nihon no anime, watashi ga tsukuru!” (“I’m the one who’ll make Japanese animation!”).

‣ “Animation Runner Kuromi 2” (2004)
The studio has to complete three separate projects at once.
More of the same and a bit closer to serious melodrama. Still crude. Digicharat-style deformation isn’t very entertaining
