Review of Cities of Tomorrow (2014)
Seen in 2016.
I saw SVT’s Swedish translation.
Futuristic urban systems of IT, energy production and agriculture.
Stereotypically French in that it focuses more on vague poetry than fact checking. For instance, archaeologists do not believe that the hanging gardens of Babylon, if they existed at all, were hydroponic. The first episode, on IT integration verging on a form of reinvented arcology, was the most interesting. Those systems look like they’d be a nightmare to maintain 10 or 20 years later.
