Review of Dogs Don’t Wear Pants (2019)
Seen in 2020.
A surgeon meets a physical therapist while looking for the coffeemaker at a tattoo parlour’s BDSM dungeon.
Billed by Draken Film as a comedy. The comedic elements are well integrated, as are all the shifts in ambience, but it’s mainly a drama, beautifully planned and shot. I especially appreciate how the daughter, while a secondary character, gets to have the teenage rebellion the colleague warns Juha about. Her share of the suffering is not trivialized, though she is appropriately isolated from the kink.
