Here, Nazis are portrayed as taking power mainly by weakening a prior notion of broader German national community, and a Hungarian-US professor declares that this cannot happen so easily in the US because “we all belong to minority groups” and have “personal freedom”. The proposed solution is therefore to “be selfish about it”.
