Review of DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990)
Seen in 2020.
One lazy stereotype after another, with mostly boring animation despite the high potential for metamorphoses. There is a flicker of interest when Christopher Lloyd’s evil wizard has Scrooge’s money bin transformed into an organic Castle in the Sky. There is a bit of internal logic to this use of infinite wishes from a genie, but this particular meeting of Arabian legend with A Christmas Carol (1843) is predictably incoherent and lasts about a minute.
