Review of Foxy Brown (1974)

Moving picture, 92 minutes

Seen in 2025.

Bob Minor as Oscar, and the rest of his “anti-slavery committee”, steal the show with their slim bandanas in this fast-paced blaxploitation revenge film. Pam Grier is good too, but there is no feminism here, despite ample opportunity in a dyke-bar scene. Many details of the production seem fumbled, and although the subject matter is plenty abrasive, it’s not as extreme as Thriller: A Cruel Picture (1973).
