A man relates the story of his marriage. His wife’s lips are literal butterfly larvae and she treats him with open contempt.
This is fabulism, but there is a brief implication that the partial metamorphosis has a moral basis, as in fairytales and Porco Rosso (1992). The symbolism is suitably murky.
