Summer Time Machine Blues (2005) meets the oblivious lad culture of Shaun of the Dead (2004) and loses the internal logic of both. Even the friendship between the three leads is unconvincing. The use of “imagineer” as a tongue-in-cheek positive alternative to “nerd”, despite its use with a completely different meaning since the 1940s, is particularly pathetic writing.
