Review of “Gnomes” (1980)

Huygens and Poortvliet’s book is an outlandish, unintentional hybrid between TRPG splatbook and supremely bigoted kitsch manifesto with an academically interesting notion of nature. On that subject, Gnomes must be the source of the name of a skill (”Meja ner hel tomtearmé”) in Drakar och demoner, an actual TRPG. The short film is less memorable children’s stuff, with boring evil.
