The history of the band Mayhem, the record store Helvete started by one of its members, and the development of Norwegian black metal.
Based on strong eyewitness accounts and very well edited. The boys of the 1980s, confusedly fusing punk and NWOBHM aesthetics with nominal Satanism, are often cute and unintentionally funny in their delusions, but Mayhem famously had two genuinely horrific incidents, covered in this series, that broke through the pretence.
