Review of Heroman (2010)

Moving picture, 10 hours

Present-day USA. A bullied, slightly effeminate orphan reuses a discarded toy robot, which is struck by lightning and transforms, thenceforth working silently under the orphan’s control to repel an alien invasion and deal with the complicated aftermath.

Heavily US-superhero-inspired shōnen SF. An original and multinational project, with the basics of the plot laid down by Stan Lee. Good clean fun. There are a lot of school-age anime clichés in it, especially obvious in the US setting, where one expects corresponding US clichés instead.
