Review of “Hibari no yadogae” (1933)

Moving picture, 5 minutes

Seen in 2016.

A family of larks in a farmer’s field is threatened by the harvest.

Atypical dramaturgy and atypical character design: Lark heads on the otherwise human bodies of all the protagonists. The frog’s virtuoso fencing scene is cute, but this is otherwise pointless.
