Review of Hyouka (2012)

Moving picture, 11 hours

Seen in 2016.

Four first-year high-schoolers join the Classics Club as its only members. One of them is lazy but easily manipulated by the women in his life to be a detective in various mysteries, starting with the history of the club. He doesn’t believe in the mythical rose-coloured high school life, but he gets pretty close.

High school comedy and mystery. Founded on moe, but “only” two of the club members are cute girls, and there is no harem tendency. Good scripts, excellent execution by Kyoto Animation. The last two episodes even bring a little bit of romantic closure; rather too little.
