Review of “If I Forget Thee, Oh Earth” (1951)
Arthur C. Clarke (writer).
Read in 2020.
A boy living in a subterranean colony on the far side of the Moon is initiated into the multi-generational quest of his civilization, which he has no chance of completing.
The numinous overtone is pretty good, based on an allusion to Psalms 137, which supports the murder of infants.
