Review of Jakten på tidskristallen (2017)
Seen in 2017.
A nutty professor gets three kids enrolled in an elite academy, ostensibly for intensive math tutoring, actually because they’re descended from the inventors of a portal that can be used to prevent time from stopping.
This is one iteration of the annual SVT Christmas calendar. A children’s SF/superhero adventure with fart jokes and moral dichotomies, without a reasonable authority figure in sight. Ultimately the mathematics, Lima’s technical skills and the portal apparatus itself are all rendered moot, which seems like the opposite of a message. My nieces liked it fine. I did like seeing David Wiberg and Fredde Granberg in it.
