On the surface, the “park pronounced dead” is just hanging on longer than expected in one particular autumn, one of the three seasons in George’s Das Jahr der Seele. It doesn’t seem to be very green, but the narrator still enjoys the experience and the poet pulls good biophilia out of that image.
