Review of “La vie antérieure” (1855)
Charles Baudelaire (writer).
Read in 2022.
Read in its original language and in Swedish-language prose translation.
Baudelaire’s rich decadence with the fabulist/fantasy imagery of Edgar Allan Poe. I like how the last line adds a dash of conscience, but it’s too much to hope for that this had something to do with the “nude slaves”.
