Review of Mercury Rising (1998)

Moving picture, 111 minutes

Seen in 2020.

1990s sausage-party nostalgia: Whisperin’ Bruce Willis, slimy Alec Baldwin, creepy Peter Stormare, even John Doman, in a plot about a maverick cop with a heart of gold who kills a few people and endangers the job and life of an innocent, anonymous woman of colour over her polite objection, then barges into another woman’s apartment and ruins her personal finances too. It’s even got Japanese tourists and a Simpsons (1989) reference from the golden age.
