Review of Moon (2009)

Moving picture, 97 minutes

The possibility of a human surviving the journey in a sleeping bag seriously undermines the credibility of the whole thing. If the purpose of the operation is to get extremely cheap fuel, and you have to pay for a human-habitable base anyway, then why pay for jammers instead of a crew? The other glaring flaws (like the crew itself, the broken AI, the working phone) can be excused as an homage to the era of 1970s pessimistic hard SF cinema. Lovely miniatures.
