Review of Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Somewhere in the mists of the crushingly unhip generic near past—the ’80s with elements of the ’90s—in a very placid part of rural Idaho, a bullied weirdo in high school refuses to attach much importance to reality, but suffers from it nonetheless.
Outcast comedy. Eventually steeps to the motif of the underdog awing the establishment, with tolerable effects. Lots of quirkiness, good actors.
