Review of Parecon: Life After Capitalism (2003)

Text

Michael Albert (writer).

A proposed system of participatory economics.

As written the proposed metaeconomic option is probably not Pareto-efficient but I am immensely impressed by the effort to lay it out systematically with very little optimism about the drudgery of taking responsibility for one’s own needs. Big data technologies developed since 2003 would be a great help in implementing the system, with a lesser cost to privacy than their real-world use in capitalism.
