Review of Shakespeare in Love (1998)
The first Oscar winner for serial sexual harasser Harvey Weinstein. It has a lot in common with Elizabeth (1998): Actor Joseph Fiennes, time period and place, production period and place, and the basic motif of treating the initial difficulties of a historically successful person’s early career at over two hours’ runtime with rather little historical veracity. This one is more of a straight romance.
