Review of Sports Day at Animal Village (1932)

Seen in 2016.

Particularly good limited animation by Murata Yasuji, though he skimps on the audience frames, as usual. The polar bear’s extended dive is especially impressive in its clever use of an impossible mechanism to raise the tower, and the extreme perspective drawing that results.
