Review of “The Beast with Five Fingers” (1919)
W. F. Harvey (writer).
Read in 2017.
Read in The Wordsworth Book of Horror Stories, in a longer version than the ones I find online.
I for one have bottomed the depths of fear. Fill your glass, man!
Pitch perfect comedy horror, with an emphasis on the comedy. It isn’t scary but the motif does have an effective surreal aspect. The epilogue, however, is weak.
