The Element of Crime (1984) IMDb
Like Blade Runner (1982), but without pace, good ideas or entertainment value, and failing to hide a lack of money as Scott did. Surprisingly for Lars von Trier, no humour either. The first film in a Europe trilogy, varied in style and tone. All three films involve a man entering a new territory with good intentions and screwing up.
The only interesting moment in this experiment of reflexivity is when they dissect a tube of toothpaste.
Similar in sentiment to No Greater Love (1959).
